Talent shines at Suncroft craft fair

Rose Fennelly and Eileen Bateson
A Christmas craft fair was held at Suncroft Community Hall on Saturday 29 November showcasing the talents of local crafts people and producers. This annual festive event featured a wide variety of handmade crafts, including crocheted items, woodturning, jewellery, and much more. Visitors had the opportunity to purchase unique, handcrafted gifts and decorations, perfect for the season that’s in it.

The event was organised by the Young at Heart senior citizens group, which meets every Wednesday at the Suncroft Community Complex to participate in fun group activities and plan community events together.

Rose Fennelly, a member of the group, commented: “The craft fair went well. We had a good turnout with 23 stalls. One of the highlights was a crocheted Christmas tree made by Eileen Bateson, crafted from 250 crocheted squares with a knitted star on top!”
