Young people paint for peace in Naas Lions competition

THE Naas Lions Club recently held an art exhibition in the chamber of Naas Library show showcasing the outstanding Art created by local national school children for the Lions International Peace Poster Competition 2025.

A great turnout of participants and their families attended, including the three winners who will go on to represent Naas in the competition The International Lions Club Peace Poster Competition is an art contest for young people aged 11-13 to express their visions of peace through Art.

This year the Theme is ‘Together as One’ Lions Clubs worldwide such as the Naas Lions Club sponsor the contest in local national schools and youth groups, encouraging creativity, tolerance, and international understanding.

This year local schools, Scoil Nas na Ri, Rathmore school and Hewetson National school participated.

The competition has multiple judging levels, from local to international. The grand prize winner receives a US$5,000 award and a trip to an international ceremony.

The contest aims to encourages young people to think about and create visions of peace in an increasingly complex world while providing a creative outlet for children.
