Leinster League Division 1A

Athy v Wicklow

Saturday, October 18, 3pm @ The Showgrounds

Game 5 of a 14-game league seems very early to be thinking about relegation, but with both sides having suffered four consecutive defeats, Athy against Wicklow looks very much like relegation battle.

Athy were narrowly beaten away to Tullow and at home to Tullamore and suffered heavy defeats at home to Boyne and away to Seapoint last time out.

They have, however, managed to earn two losing bonus points and two four-try bonus points, putting them in 7th place, four points better off than bottom side Wexford Wanderers who are yet to get off the mark.

Leinster League Division 2A

Cill Dara v Balbriggan

Sunday, October 19, 3pm @ Silken Thomas Park

Cill Dara remain undefeated after three games in Division 2A and will fancy their chances of maintaining that record at home to Balbriggan.

The season began with Cill Dara winning away to North Kildare before beating New Ross in Silken Thomas Park.

But they come into this fixture on the back of a draw, having finished 20 points apiece last time out away to Longford.

Balbriggan were well beaten at home to Coolmine and away to Newbridge but beat Edenderry last week to get off the mark.

Leinster League Division 2A

North Kildare v Newbridge

Sunday, October 19, 3pm @ The Maws

Newbridge travel to Kilcock on Saturday for a highly anticipated derby with North Kildare.

Both sides have won once and lost twice, with Newbridge ahead on the table by virtue of bonus points.

Newbridge beat Balbriggan at home either side of defeats away to Longford and Coolmine, while North Kildare lost to Cill Dara and Coolmine but come into the derby on the back of an encouraging win away to New Ross.

Leinster League Division 2B

Clane v Garda Westmanstown

Sunday, October 19, 3pm @ Ballinagappa Road

Clane are yet to win after two games in Division 2B, yet find themselves with four points on the board heading into Sunday.

A draw at home to Arklow saw Clane score four tries to leave the game with three points in total before they picked up a losing bonus point away to Midland Warriors.

Garda Westmanstown are only slightly better off, having thrashed West Offaly Lions before losing away to Arklow and at home to Midland Warriors.
