Shock as Kildare LGFA "voted to award the U16 Division 1 Final to Clane"

Kildare LGFA last night made a shock announcement, appearing to row back on a decision that seemed to have been made late last week regarding the U16 'A' Championship Final between Clane and Kilcullen.

A statement on their social media said: "Kildare LGFA held a EGM this evening attended by 36 clubs out of 41 clubs. Following a long discussion the clubs proposed and voted to award the U16 Division 1 Final to Clane LGFA."

This is despite the Association apparently agreeing to postpone the final, with Kilcullen reporting that they had been told a discussion concerning a rescheduled final would take place in two week's time at a planned County Board meeting.

Kilcullen have until Thursday night to appeal the latest decision.
