Five star Maynooth prove too hot for Kilcock to handle

Neil Flynn scored three points before departing at half time
Maynooth turned in a five star display as they booked their place in the winners’ groups with an 18 point win over Kilcock.
With the wind behind them, Kilcock actually started the better and scored the first two points of the game but from the moment that Ciaran Flanagan scored the first goal of the game in the seventh minute, Maynooth dominated.
The second goal followed in the 15th minute with Paul O’Dea scoring from close range, and the third came in the last action of the half when Neil Flynn set up Paddy Mahoney who then beat Fionn Talbot at his near post with a clever finish. That left it at 3-8 to 0-4 at half time but unfortunately Flynn pulled up after creating that goal and didn’t appear for the second half.
Kilcock started the second half well and the points were evenly shared through the first four after the restart but Maynooth then scored two goals in the space of 60 seconds with ten minutes remaining.
John Flattery finished off a clinical counter attack and then Flanagan rounded off the win shortly after.
