The Kildare Nationalist understands that St Laurence’s senior footballers have parted company with manager Pat Ryan following their seven-goal drubbing by Raheens in their second group game last weekend.
The Narraghmore outfit have lost all three of their championship games to date, having gone under to Clogherinkoe in the Preliminary Round and Johnstownbridge in their opening group game before the wheels came off completely in that 23-point drubbing by Raheens where they conceded seven goals.
They now face a crucial “winners-take-all” Group C clash with fellow strugglers Carbury in their final group game next Saturday with the losers destined for a relegation play-off against the bottom club in Group D.
It is understood that selectors Mossy Doyle and Derek Lawlor will take charge for that one.
St Laurence’s have been a Senior Championship side since winning the Intermediate Championship in 1980, and famously won a Senior title in 2009, but they needed a second-half comeback against Ballyteague in last year’s relegation final to avoid dropping down and they face being in the final that nobody wants to be in again this year unless they can beat Cabury.
