Steady trade for quality bullocks at Baltinglass Mart

At Baltinglass Mart’s cattle sale on Wednesday 3 July there was a steady trade for good quality bullocks and heifers.
Plainer cattle were slightly easier. The mart say that scarce grass is having an effect on lighter cattle, while cows remain a good trade.
At the sheep sale on Saturday 6 July, lamb prices were a little easier by €7 to €10/head.
Improved trade for breeding ewes for early lamb production.
Cast ewes saw a good trade while ewes with lambs at foot made up to €208. Sample prices included lambs: 10 x 45kg made €148, four at 41kg made €140 and 20 at 43kg made €140.
