The case was heard last week at Naas Courthouse

A MAN who allegedly punched his wife in the face whilst arguing with his daughter will have to return to court in July to contest the matter.

The who can’t be named is charged with assault causing harm and breach of a protection order.

“These are serious allegations,” said Judge Desmond Zaidan at Naas District Court last week.

“The injured party says she was at home with her husband, the children were there. There were tensions between them, he started arguing with his daughter, the wife got between them, and he struck her in the face with a closed fist,” said Sergeant Dave Hanrahan.  The judge remanded the man on same bail terms to return for hearing on 17 July.
