THE Ireland Funds, the global philanthropic network, has awarded €10,000 to the fantastic Sensational Kids in Kildare.
This support, through the Heart of the Community Fund grant round, will assist Sensational Kids in delivering vital front-line therapeutic supports for children with additional needs, ensuring that these children in need have access to vital supports when and where they need them.
The Heart of the Community Fund this year is awarding €930,000 ($1,000,000) to 93 community and voluntary organisations across the island of Ireland to support their vital local activity. Made possible by generous philanthropic gifts and fundraising events of The Ireland Funds America, the largest chapter of The Ireland Funds, these grants exemplify the power of collective giving.
Karen Leigh, founder and CEO of Sensational Kids, said they are thrilled to be awarded a Heart of the Community 2024 grant.
“Sensational Kids provides timely and impactful therapeutic supports to over 300 children weekly through our four child development centres in Kildare, West Cork, Mayo, and Monaghan,” she said. “This grant is vital in funding our core costs, enabling us to serve underserved children and help them develop essential skills for their future. We are very grateful for The Ireland Funds' continued support in achieving better outcomes for children across Ireland.”
The Heart of the Community Fund strategically supports non-profits under The Ireland Funds’ four funding pillars: Arts and Culture, Community Development, Education, and Peace and Reconciliation. Emphasising community integration and inclusion, this fund prioritised projects that centred around belonging and organisations addressing youth and family support needs.
