The initiative will run until Wednesday 31 March 2027, providing an additional 14 beds during the period to help meet accommodation needs in the county.
A further 14 beds will also be made available during periods of extreme weather, bringing the total additional capacity to 28 beds when severe weather provision is activated.
The details were confirmed in response to a question from cllr Noel Connolly, who asked the council’s housing department for details on the upcoming cold weather initiative at the most recent meeting of Kildare-Newbridge MD.
