70 homes proposed for growing Kildare town

PLANS have been lodged for a major new housing development in Kilcullen that would deliver 70 homes on a 1.94-hectare site beside the existing Riverside Crescent estate.
The application was submitted by Rivermanor Developments Ltd and proposes a mix of duplexes and family homes on lands to the west of Riverside Crescent in Kilcullen.
According to the planning documents, the development would consist of 70 residential units in total, including 32 duplex units and 38 houses.
The duplex accommodation would include 16 three-storey duplexes made up of eight two-bedroom units and eight three-bedroom units. A further 16 four-storey duplexes are proposed, comprising eight three-bedroom units and eight four-bedroom units.
The plans also include 26 three-bedroom, two-storey houses and 12 four-bedroom homes in a mix of two and three-storey designs.
Access to the development would be provided through several vehicular, pedestrian and cyclist entry points connecting to the existing estate road at Riverside Crescent.
The proposed scheme also includes almost 3,000 square metres of public open space, along with more than 750 square metres of communal open space for residents.
A total of 106 car parking spaces and 126 bicycle spaces are planned as part of the development, alongside bin storage areas throughout the site.
Infrastructure works forming part of the application include internal roads and footpaths, ESB substations and switchrooms, public lighting, drainage works, landscaping, boundary treatments and associated ancillary site services.
