Frustration over Kildare village's disabled spaces

A LOCAL councillor expressed frustration recently over issues with disabled parking spaces in Sallins.
Cllr Carmel Kelly brought forward a motion at the most recent meeting of Naas Municipal District calling on the council to upgrade the disabled parking spaces at the former Post Office and on Church Avenue, opposite Café Grange.
Area engineer Yasir Khan issued the council’s response, which stated that the local authority will arrange for the locations to be inspected and for 'the upgrading of the disabled parking bays, including appropriate lining and signage'.
The works will be completed once a line-marking contractor is available.
Cllr Kelly said that the line-marking issue has been ongoing for some time and that patience is “wearing thin”. She expressed her dissatisfaction with the report, saying that she wanted more detail on the matter.
