A KILDARE man who allegedly flashed a shop employee in Newbridge will now have to keep good sketch after a court issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
Due to appear in Naas District Court last week week was Luke Gavin (35) formerly with an address in Kilmeague, but now of NFA.
Mr Gavin did not appear in court when the registrar called his name.
Sergeant Dave Hanrahan told the court formally that Gavin was being charged under Section 45 of the Criminal Law Act, but expounded into lay speak for greater comprehension.
“He (allegedly) exposed his genitalia to the manager of Centra (Newbridge, on 26 September),” said the sergeant.
“Is that what’s commonly known as flashing?” asked Judge Desmond Zaidan.
“Yes, judge,” concurred the sergeant.
Mr Gavin is also being charged with possession of stolen property, attempted break-in to a car, and possession of a blade in Newbridge on 25 August, 2023.
However, as there was no-show on Mr Gavin’s behalf, save for his trusty solicitor Tim Kennelly, the judge issued the bench warrant as soon as Sgt Hanrahan asked for it.
“You can’t oppose that, Mr Kennelly.” said the judge.
