Athy band win national wedding award

VEGAS TRAD, a Kildare-based five-piece band, have won another national wedding industry award for their music.
The band took home the Best Traditional Music 2025 award at the prestigious Let's Talk Weddings Awards Night 2025, a glamorous and glitzy annual national wedding industry event celebrating the best suppliers in the Irish wedding industry.
This is their second year in a row to win this coveted award.
The multi instrumentalist trad and ballad group primarily hail from Athy with one member from Ennistymon, Co Clare. They have gone from strength to strength over the years and are now one of the highest regarded bands performing for wedding and corporate events.
Brendan Connolly, a band member, explained that they “were so surprised” to receive the award again this year.
“We were in shock when our names were called out. It's always a tough category with some of the best musicians in the country in the finals but we are absolutely over the moon,” continued Mr Connolly.
“We were just happy to finally get an excuse for a night out.”
The band are one of Ireland's premier multi-instrumentalist folk, trad and ballad bands catering for weddings, festivals and corporate events.
They play traditional Irish tunes such as jigs, reels, hornpipes and polkas as well as folk and ballad music such as drinking songs and sing-alongs. Also known for playing American bluegrass music the group mixes into their sets which is always a crowd pleaser.
With both male and female lead vocalists we provide the largest mix of song types possible. Their female vocalist Niamh is herself a multi award-winning ceremony singer.
