Athy graduate tops medical class 

AN ATHY native has just graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Galway, finishing at the top of her class.

In a remarkable academic achievement, Dr Aoibhinn King graduated top of the 2026 class, and was awarded three gold medals at the graduation ceremony in recognition of her excellence in General Practice, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Surgery.

The awards reflect the dedication, commitment and outstanding ability she demonstrated throughout her medical studies.

Aoibhinn's parents, Tom King and Moura Liddane, residents of Athy Town, are immensely proud of their daughter's achievements.

As she embarks on the next stage of her medical career, Dr King does so with an impressive academic record and the best wishes of her family, friends and the wider community.
