Bid to turn Athy retail unit into day services centre

A charity has lodged plans to convert an Athy building from a retail store to a Day Services Centre.
Muiriosa Foundation are seeking change of use planning permission to 15 Emily Square, a stone's throw away from the Shackleton Museum.
The charity supports Autistic individuals and people with intellectual disabilities to live independent and inclusive lives.
The application includes adjustments to the property and footpath, including accessible toilets, safe drop-off surface, along with a canteen and multi-functional room.
Planners at Kildare County Council will decide on the application by 11 August.
