Mega movie star Brad Pitt arrived in Laois this week, as cameras roll on his latest film based on the acclaimed novel .
The Oscar-winning actor was seen at the magical setting of Ballyadams Castle, as filming continues on the movie titled , an adaptation of Tim Winton’s 1994 novel.
Photos and videos are doing the rounds on social media, following the Hollywood star’s surprise local appearance on Monday.
St Joseph's GAA club was a hive of activity over the bank holiday weekend, as the production team used the club for food trucks and equipment storage during filming.
There was tight security before the actor's arrival in Ballyadams at 10am on Monday, while small but excited groups of locals gathered throughout the day to try to catch a glimpse of the star.
He was driven away from the castle just after 5pm and cheerfully waved to fans, in a drive-by that lasted just 20 seconds.
The film is directed by Edward Berger and follows Fred Scully, an Australian man who relocates to Ireland with his family, only for his wife to mysteriously disappear, triggering a search across Europe.
Pitt plays the lead role of Scully in the production, which also stars Julianne Nicholson and Coco Greenstone.
The film is being shot across multiple locations in Ireland that include Laois, Dublin, Wicklow, Cork and Kerry and is due for release in December 2026.
