The Naas Municipal District Committee today appointed councillor Fintan Brett as Mayor and councillor Seamie Moore as Deputy Mayor of the Municipal District Committee, at their annual meeting recently

THE Naas Municipal District Committee has appointed councillor Fintan Brett as Mayor of the county town.

Cllr Seamie Moore will continue as as Deputy Mayor of the Municipal District, as he was elevated to that position in June 2023 under the Mayorship of Cllr Bill Clear.  

The councillors of the Municipal District made their choice at their annual meeting, which was held in Áras Chill Dara last week.

Fintan is a retired engineer, and was co-opted on to take Tony Lawlor’s seat in 2011.

He was previously elected as Mayor of Kildare County Council for the year 2022-23. Seamie was first elected 30 years ago, successfully standing in 10 elections since, and at 85, is the 'Father of the House'.
