The Department of Foreign Affairs has said it is investigating a potential cybersecurity breach.

Micheál Martin's department was notified about the incident by the National Cyber Security Centre on Thursday.

It comes as a hacking group claims it has compromised documents from the department for sale.

In a statement, the department said "at this point, there's no evidence of any breach, but it will continue its investigation."
