Design team appointed for development of Athy amenity

A design team has been appointed for a sports ground development in Athy.
This emerged at the most recent meeting of Athy Municipal District (MD), where cllr Brian Dooley asked Kildare County Council for an update on the Ardrew Community Sports Ground Development.
The council’s answer to cllr Dooley stated that “a design team has recently been appointed to progress the scheme to Part 8 stage for planning approval”. The response further detailed that the project is at a “very early stage”.
The design team held its’ first meeting on 10 June, with the council now aiming to work alongside them to formulate a clear plan for the project, including a timeline and timeframe for when the public will get to give their input.
The official response added that a further update will be provided when the plan has been put together.
MD Cathaoirleach Ivan Keatley said it was “great to see progress” on the project.
