KILDARE gardaí said they “hit the jackpot” after stopping a motorist in Prosperous who appeared to have collected a full house of offences.

While on patrol on the R403, Naas Roads Policing Unit received an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) alert indicating that a vehicle had no insurance, no tax, and no valid NCT certificate.

When stopped, the situation went from bad to worse, with the driver failing both the alcohol and drug tests. Gardaí said the motorist tested positive for cocaine, cannabis, and benzodiazepines.

The driver was arrested at the scene, the car was impounded, and a blood sample was taken for further analysis.

A court appearance is expected to follow.

Commenting on the incident, Gardaí remarked that “some people really don’t know when to stop.”
