Minister Martin Heydon, Fine Gael TD for Kildare South has welcomed confirmation from the Department of Education, that it has issued a Letter of Intent for the significant extension and refurbishment of both Cross and Passion College, Kilcullen and Patrician Secondary School, Newbridge.

“I’m delighted to have worked alongside the schools management to help deliver it to this stage, along with my colleagues Cllr Tracey O’Dwyer and Cllr Peggy O’Dwyer,” said Minister Heydon.

Both projects at CPC Kilcullen and Patrician Secondary School Newbridge will deliver state of the art facilities for 1,000 pupils with six dedicated special education needs classrooms.

With the go ahead granted from the Department of Education, the next step is getting contracts signed and working towards the delivery of these projects.

Concluding, Minister Heydon said:

“I will continue working closely with these schools, my colleague Minister for Education Hildegarde Naughton and the Department to ensure construction begins without delay, whilst also advocating for progression of the new school building for the Curragh Community College at the Magee Barracks site.”
