The management and staff of Liffey Mills have wished one of the longest-serving members of the group, Geoff Oliver, a long, happy ad healthy retirement.

Geoff has been a “stalwart” of their Athy branch right from the start, dating back to 1989 when the late Richard Liffey acquired the business from the then farmers co-op.

“Over this three and a half decades, Geoff has been the cornerstone of everything that happens behind the counter in Athy,” they said.

“Starting out back in 1989 as a team of four, Geoff has seen the Liffey Mills Athy branch grow from a small yard with a barn for a shop into fully equipped farm supply shop with a busy and vibrant yard.

“Geoff has been a pillar of the success story that is Liffey Mills Athy today, he along with John Leigh have been immovable objects at the counter and have seen many changes in the agricultural sector but their commitment to looking after their customers has never wavered nor has their appetite to adapt and change as times and technologies moved forward over the last 35 years!

“Geoff, thanks for the service, commitment and loyalty you have given Liffey Mills over the past 35 years, it’s truly impeccable. You will be sorely missed by colleagues and customers alike and we wish you, your lovely wife Hazel, children Ricky & Pamela all the very, very best as you embark on this new chapter of life.”
