Inaugral Disability Show takes place in the Curragh

THERE was a great turnout as the inaugural Disability Show, which took place in the Curragh Racecourse last week.

The event aimed to bring together a wide variety of services, supports, products and innovations to help improve everyday life.

There was also a host of guest speakers, including Minister for State with responsibility for disability Hildegarde Naughton and Jack Kavanagh, a renowned speaker and pharmacist who suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury at the age of 20.

The event showcased health and therapy services to sports opportunities to accessible vehicles.

The Irish Athletic Boxing Association, Irish Wheelchair Association, HSE, Marie Keating Foundation, home care service provider Dovida and the DSPCA all showcased.

Gerry Guerin of the Disability Show Team said it is hoped that this year’s show was just the beginning and will grow in the future.
