Kildare businesses shortlisted for Repak awards
AES Recycling, based in Newbridge, has been shortlisted for the Best Waste Recovery Operator and Facility Award
TWO Kildare companies has been shortlisted for the2026 Repak Resource Awards, which recognises businesses, community groups, educational institutions and organisations from across Ireland that are delivering meaningful environmental impact.
Both AES Recycling and The Culinary Food Group, have been shortlisted as a finalists in the national environmental awards.
The awards celebrate achievements across waste prevention, recycling, reuse, refill, resource efficiency, sustainable packaging and the circular economy, shining a spotlight on practical initiatives that are helping to drive positive environmental change.
AES Recycling, based in Newbridge, has been shortlisted for the Best Waste Recovery Operator and Facility Award, sponsored by the Irish Waste Management Association.
Operating across 13 counties, AES Recycling provides waste collection and treatment services to more than 120,000 domestic and 5,000 commercial customers, collecting over 400,000 tonnes of waste annually.
Since joining the KWD Group in October 2025, the company has embarked on a major transformation programme, including a €1 million rebrand, new systems and technology, fleet modernisation and expanded organic waste collection.
The Culinary Food Group, based in Naas has been shortlisted for the Sustainability Team of the Year Award, sponsored by Producer Register Limited.
The company's Green Lean Programme and Sustainability Champions Initiative bring employees from across the business together to identify projects that reduce waste, improve resource efficiency and lower energy use. In 2025, 70 improvement projects were completed, contributing to a 2.5% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
This year’s shortlist spans 13 award categories and reflects the breadth of sustainability action taking place across communities and organisations nationwide, from innovative recycling and resource recovery solutions to education, packaging design, waste prevention and single-use plastic reduction initiatives.
The winner of each of the 13 categories will progress to compete for the Overall Repak Resource Award, one of the highest environmental accolades an organisation, business, community group or individual in Ireland can achieve.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held in The Round Room in the Mansion House on Friday, 23 October.
