SENSATIONAL Kids, the social enterprise that provides affordable developmental assessments and therapies to children and adolescents with additional needs, is recruiting chartered clinical and educational psychologists at its child development centres in Kildare town.

This is part of an expansion of its award-winning services, as it is also seeking such professionals for its branches in Mayo; Clonakilty, Cork and Monaghan.

The roles may be part-time or full-time depending on the suitable candidates’ availability.

“There is a huge need for affordable assessments and therapies right across Ireland and we are focused on meeting that demand, supporting children to reach their full potential,” said Karen Leigh, founder and CEO of Sensational Kids.

“These psychologists will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive psychological assessments, interventions and therapeutic support to children and adolescents with a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

“These roles are an opportunity to join a passionate, dedicated team and truly transform the lives of children with additional needs.”

Founded in 2007, Sensational Kids multidisciplinary teams support children and their families through evidence-based interventions and holistic approaches.

The suitable candidate will require a doctorate in educational, clinical or counselling psychology and must be registered with the PSI as a chartered psychologist.

Sensational Kids has directly supported over 10,000 children from all over Ireland through their child development centres, and their mission is to ensure that no child is left waiting for life-changing therapeutic support.

The Sensational Kids National Child Development Centre is a cutting-edge facility spanning 17,000 sq ft being built on a 2.4-acre greenfield site just off the M7 motorway in Kildare town on Melitta Road.

Only last November it looked like the building couldn’t go ahead because of a funding shortfall, but they were thrown a lifeline by the Department of Justice just a month later.

The new centre aims to support 300 children per week, providing 13,000 therapy sessions annually for children in need. Additionally, it will equip thousands of parents, teachers, SNAs, and clinicians with the knowledge, skills and resources.
