A DRIVER has been arrested after being detected travelling at a dangerously high speed on the M7 near Osberstown.
The incident occurred yesterday evening when members of the Naas Roads Policing Unit clocked the vehicle at what Gardaí described as a “ridiculous speed.”
The driver was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with dangerous driving. If convicted, they face a two-year driving disqualification, a fine of up to €5,000, or a prison sentence of up to six months.
Gardaí have reminded the public that speeding puts lives at risk. In a statement, they urged motorists to slow down and drive responsibly.
“Speeding puts lives at risk. Slow down – save lives," they wrote.
