KILDARE Further Education Centre held their QQI Award night in the centre on Thursday 10 April, their first award presentation since the pandemic.
Special guest on the night was TD & former Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghaíl.
Also present were Dr Deirdre Keyes, chief executive of Kildare & Wicklow Education Training Board; adult education officer Una Burke and outgoing adult literacy organiser Imelda Carroll.

Students from Music Generation started off the evening with a short musical recital.
This event showcases the wider societal impact further education and training has on the communities in the Kildare Town area. The centre is proud of the students and the impact it has and look forward to seeing other students both past and present, continue to thrive.

Seán Ó Fearghaíl presented over 50 adult education students with a range of QQI certificates in various subjects from computers, horticulture, English as a second language, office skills, business administration and healthcare.
He congratulated and acknowledged the challenges many students faced in returning to education as adults, and praised their ability to overcome obstacles, reskill and unlock new opportunities for their futures. He also noted that there were many different cultures represented, who were receiving certificates.

Chief executive of the board Deirdre Keyes said that "credit needs to be given to these students, for the dedication and commitment that they have given in completing the courses and undertaking this step in what will hopefully be a lifelong learning journey”, and thanked the tutors for their support and guidance to their students.

Kildare FETC were delighted to bring together students, families, educators, and invited guests to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and excellence of the students.
