Kildare groups awarded enhancement funding

KILDARE County Council and the Kildare Local Community Development Committee have announced the successful applicants of the Local Enhancement Programme 2025 (LEP), with funding allocated to over 100 community and voluntary groups across the country.
The Local Enhancement Programme is designed to support grassroots organisations — particularly those serving disadvantaged communities.
A total of €198,448 will go toward supporting 49 groups with capital and equipment costs, while €37,191 will be distributed to 51 groups to assist with day-to-day running costs.

Among the successful applicants are Athy Community & Family Centre T/A Athy Happy Days Community Childcare, which will receive €9,780 to develop an outdoor play area and an additional €1,000 to cover running costs, Kildare Town Community and Family Resource Centre, set to receive €6,128 for new furniture and €1,000 in operational support, and Johnstownbridge Men’s Shed, which will be granted €1,000 to help with ongoing expenses.
