A GAME-changing solar energy project has arrived in O’Hanlon Park, Celbridge, marking a first-of-its kind installation in Ireland.
Resolute Engineering Group has successfully delivered a unique pay-as-you-go public EV charging system that harnesses solar energy to power electric vehicles, setting a new standard for sustainable transport infrastructure.

At the heart of this innovation is a solar-powered canopy strategically placed above the EV charging spaces, ensuring that vehicles receive a clean, renewable charge directly from the sun.
However, the ingenuity doesn’t stop there — on days with insufficient sunlight, a 200kW battery storage system steps in, storing excess solar energy and ensuring reliable charging around the clock.

But the commitment to renewable energy at O’Hanlon Park extends beyond EV charging. The site also boasts 70 high-performance solar panels installed on the roof of the Driving Range, further enhancing the facility’s ability to generate clean energy.
This additional power is used to support O’Hanlon Park’s diverse amenities, which include a driving range, astro pitches, and indoor padel courts.
This project is not just about reducing carbon emissions—it’s about shaping the future of energy usage in Ireland. By integrating cutting-edge solar technology with real-world applications, O’Hanlon Park is setting a precedent for sustainable sports and leisure facilities nationwide.

As the demand for clean energy solutions grows, projects like this highlight the potential of renewable technology to transform communities, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and make sustainable living more accessible than ever before.
