KILDARE woman Tiffany Stanley (37) who has been living in the Hollywood Hills for the past 12 years was forced to flee her home due to the horrendous fires in Los Angeles last week.

Tiffany is a model originally from Moone and is the daughter of Harry the former Volkswagen dealer, and the late Sharon.

Tiffany told how she, her husband Garrett Thomas and their two dogs Piglet and Kepler were ordered to evacuate their home last week, but were now allowed back, on Morning Ireland on Monday.

"We were monitoring the fire on the opposite side of the road, and then it sort of just exploded, almost unnatural, it went up in an inferno,” said Tiffany.

“It’s been absolute mayhem on so many levels, and the problem now is there’s people going around committing arson.

“Someone was arrested with a blowtorch and a canister of petrol.

“We’re back in the house, but the problem now is that there’s people looting homes.

“The army is now patrolling the city to try and get law and order back on the streets. Our house is surrounded by woodland all around.

“We don’t even know if it’s safe to close our eyes at night in case there’s another fire and we have to evacuate.

“There’s no peace.”

The Kildare Nationalist also spoke with Tiffany’s father Harry at home in Moone.

“She’s safe and well, but I think she is still worried about the situation.

“She’s a new girl in a new country, It’s still very strange for her.

“She is aware of what’s happening, and she can run away; it’s not like a bomb or an earthquake.

“I was talking to her on Friday night, and she’s worried about her bits and pieces.

“I know she’s not a young one, but she’s always a young one to me!

“She’s not exactly a big country girl, so I suppose it is a bit scary.

“If her mammy was still alive she’d be talking to her and telling her not to worry.”
