GARDAÍ are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N7 motorway eastbound, at Kill on Saturday (1 November) at approximately 3.30pm.
The collision occurred between junction 8 and junction 7 eastbound on the N7 motorway and involved a bus and a pedestrian.
A male pedestrian, aged in his 30s was seriously injured and taken to Tallaght University Hospital where he later passed away that evening as a result of the collision. A post mortem will take place in due course.
The male driver (aged in his 30s) of the bus was uninjured and two passengers received non-life threatening injuries.
“The victim had a breakdown or a puncture, he got out to fix it and the bus ploughed into him,” said a local source.
“There was mayhem between Kill and Johnstown until 5pm yesterday (Sunday).
“TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland) had a number of vans at the scene, but they all just stayed in their vans and did nothing.
“They could’ve easily made the westbound carriage into a contraflow and kept the traffic moving”.
