Kildare Wildlife Rescue (KWR) announced a new outreach programme, inviting businesses across the country to help safeguard the country’s wildlife and biodiversity.
Ireland’s largest and most specialised wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre, KWR, is inviting businesses and foundations to partner with the charity to support its vital Wildlife Help Desk service, which last year alone assisted over 13,000 members of the public.
As a part of a new outreach programme, KWR is offering a unique experience for team building and corporate away days with hands-on volunteering days and team visits to its centre in Kildare among other benefits.
Founded in 2022 by experienced wildlife professionals, KWR is a volunteer-founded and volunteer-run charity fully licensed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). In 2025, the organisation admitted over 5,000 wild animals into care, treating a wide variety of species from across the country.
At the heart of KWR’s work is its Wildlife Help Desk, providing professional wildlife advice 365 days a year.

Operated by trained volunteers, the Help Desk runs seven days a week from 8am to 11pm.
Demand for the service has increased dramatically. Since January 2023, KWR has recorded a year-on-year rise in calls for help with more than 13,000 reports in 2025 — a 60% increase in just one year. To ensure this service can continue, KWR needs to raise funds urgently to help staff the Help Desk.
It is now seeking corporate partnership or sponsorship and in return can offer staff visits to the KWR centre, corporate volunteer days, environmental workshops and webinars for staff, along with promotion across KWR platforms and advertising space in its email signature, reaching over 13,000 service users a year.
Businesses interested in partnering with Kildare Wildlife Rescue are encouraged to explore the charity’s work through its website, social media channels and public reviews, and to get in touch to discuss partnership opportunities.
KWR founder and manager Dan Donoher said the initiative offers a unique opportunity for companies to offer something different to employee team building while also contributing to Irish wildlife and biodiversity.
"Many of the calls that come in to our help desk are from corporate entities who have found sick or injured wildlife on or near their premises.
“We have found there is huge interest and a lot of compassion for wildlife and the work that we do among the Irish workforce. This new sponsorship programme will offer employers a chance to give back to the community while offering staff an experience they will never forget!"
