Man dies in road crash in Co Meath

A man has died following a road crash in Co Meath, gardaí said.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the traffic incident which happened on the N51 at Janeville in Slane on Tuesday.

The single vehicle crashed shortly after 10.40am.

The driver, a man aged in his 70s, was treated at the scene and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he was later pronounced dead.

The coroner has been notified, gardaí said.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam, and were travelling on the N51 near Janeville on Tuesday between 10.15am and 10.45am are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
