NEW housing units at Glandour House, Athy are scheduled for completion in March, Kildare County Council confirmed.

The five-unit development forms part of ongoing efforts to expand housing availability in the Athy area.

The update was provided following a query from cllr Aoife Breslin, who sought clarity on the project’s progress and expected delivery timeline.

In a briefing issued by a senior executive engineer of the housing capital team, the council stated that the “practical completion date for the units at Glandour House, Woodstock Street, Athy is March 2026.”

While the prospect of the project’s completion was welcome, cllr Breslin queried the date as she was last briefed it would be completed in January of 2026.

She also asked whether the development will be designated for elderly people in Athy, which a council representative undertook to check, and is expected to be confirmed in the near future.
