GARDAÍ in Kildare and Carlow have seized 54 vehicles in the past week as part of a road policing crackdown targeting uninsured and unsafe drivers.
The vehicles were taken off the road for offences including having no insurance, no tax, no NCT, as well as for unaccompanied learner drivers and disqualified motorists.
The operation was powered by the Garda Mobility App, which allows officers to instantly check a vehicle and driver’s roadworthiness status.
“We’re out in force. If you’re not road legal, we’ll find you — and we’ll seize your vehicle,” a Garda spokesperson said.
Highlighting the ongoing campaign against uninsured drivers, Gardaí reminded motorists: “No insurance? No excuse.”
