KILDARE County Council has announced plans for works at three junctions within the Athy Municipal District.

The plans are focused on proposed revised junction layouts at three junctions following road realignments.

The council intends to implement a revised junction layout at Bolton Hill, at the junction of the L8048, L8046 and L80461 roads with the relining of the junction to change priority as the layout has changed. The junction is near the villages of Moone and Kilkea as well as Castledermot.

A similar measure is planned at the Castlemitchell junction at the intersection of the L8059 and L81860 roads and also at the Grangemellon junction at the L8076 and L80771 roads, following works on the Athy-Carlow Road.

Drawings showing the proposed works have been available since 26 May on the council’s consultation website at the following link:

The drawings are also available at the offices of Kildare County Council at Level 4 of the Áras Chill Dara building in Naas from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, as well as the Athy Municipal District offices at Rathstewart.

Friday 26 June is the deadline to view the drawings.

Submissions or observations relating to the proposed works can be made in writing or online.

Written submissions or observations are to be made to the council’s senior executive officer for transport, mobility and open spaces at the following address on or before 5pm on Friday 26 June at the following address: Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Kildare, W91X77F.

The council asked that submissions reference the relevant location and that they should only be made either through a hard copy or online rather than both.
