TWO men who allegedly went to the home of a woman to threaten her with hammers will have to return to court in March to learn their fate.

Anthony Hinton (38), and James Kane (59), both of the same address in Ardrew Heights, Athy are alleged to have gone to the home of a woman on Woodstock Way in the town on 25 July 2023.

“Both males were looking for the ex-partner of Hinton, and both males had hammers,” said Sergeant Dave Hanrahan.

Both men are charged with the production of an implement contrary to S11 of the Firearms Act, while Hinton is also charged with making threats to kill, contrary to S5 of the Non-Fatal Offences against the Person Act.

“It was believed to have been an alleged drugs matter,” said the sergeant.

Judge Desmond Zaidan accepted the State’s evidence as it was presented, and though he didn’t rule on jurisdiction at this point, he remanded both on continuing bail to return to Athy District Court on 10 March.
