Two women injured in Kildare hijack incident

The hijack incident happened in Clane on Sunday

Gardaí in Co Kildare are appealing for information relating to the hijacking of a car in Clane on Sunday 23 February.

The incident occurred at around 10.45pm outside a takeaway on Main Street when a woman (40s) was approached by a man who forcibly removed her from her parked car.

The man then stole the vehicle and left the scene. A second woman (20s) was assaulted during the course of this incident.

Both women were taken from the scene to Naas General Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.

Any person who was on Clane’s Main Street and surrounding areas on Sunday evening, particularly between 9.00pm and 11.30pm, is asked to contact investigating Gardaí. Additionally, road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
