Sullivan and Dowling call time on Kildare careers

Two great servants to Kildare, Claire Sullivan and Ellen Dowling, have announced their retirement from Inter-County football.
Two of Kildare's most decorated footballers have called time on their Inter-County careers this week.
Claire Sullivan from Carbury and Ellen Dowling from Suncroft will be remembered forever as two integral players in Kildare's famous 2023 All-Ireland victory over Clare.
Kildare LGFA thanked the pair for their "outstanding service and commitment" to the county and went on to acknowledge their contributions to Kildare Ladies' Football:
"Both Claire and Ellen have given outstanding service to Kildare football and have become household names in the world of ladies' football," the organisation said.
"They have been an integral part of the Kildare Senior Football Team from the moment that they put on the Lilywhite jersey.
"Most notably, Claire and Ellen were instrumental in Kildare's most successful season to date in 2023 under the helm of Diane O' Hora. Both players were rewarded for their efforts with Lidl National League Division 3, Leinster Intermediate and Intermediate All-Ireland titles.
"Claire and Ellen will be missed on the pitch by those who support ladies' football in Kildare and our younger fans who have grown up watching them play.
"We wish Claire and Ellen all the best for the future."
