Klub Kildare’s Under 17’s continued their recent good run as they defeated Wexford 4-2 in FBD Hotels and Resorts Park on Sunday afternoon.

Klub Kildare took control and Jayden Parsons went close to adding to the score. Ethan Deegan in the middle of the pitch was controlling midfield when a quick break away by Wexford saw Alex Mazur shott home from about twenty yards.
Oisin Earley was unfortunate when he headed powerfully from a great cross by Podge Gleeson only to see Wexford keeper Luke Axinte save well and clear upfield.

Despite Bray being clear favourites, the visitors showed grit, resilience, and flashes of real quality but unfortunately it wasn’t Klub Kildare’s day.
Bray began strongly, setting the tone with an energetic, high-tempo opening twenty-five minutes.
Klub Kildare’s goalkeeper, Kate Gayson, was outstanding in those early stages, pulling off several excellent saves to keep her side level.
Bray took the lead in the 31st minute through Annalily Farrelly, who finished neatly in a one-on-one with Gayson after a well-worked build-up.
Kildare responded with a series of changes to inject fresh energy into the side. The momentum began to shift, driven by some fantastic kickouts from Gayson that opened space for Kildare’s attack.
Just before half-time, first half substitute Blossom Pednekar equalised with a stunning free kick from around ten yards outside the box—leaving Bray’s keeper Sophie Farrell with no chance. The strike brought Kildare level at 1–1 going into the break.
The second half began with an impressive intensity from the visitors, who constantly applied pressure to the home side. Bray appeared noticeably more nervous than they had in the opening half, resorting for long periods to clearing high balls under pressure.
The game soon became increasingly physical, leading to several heavy head-to-head collisions throughout the half.
Klub Kildare were creating more chances and looked the more likely to score with Ciara Hilliard being a constant threat with her line breaking passes in behind the Bray defence which caused Bray some worrying moments, however Bray were still very dangerous on the counter attack and set-pieces.
With significant added time played due to the injuries and stoppages, Kildare looked set to earn what would have been a thoroughly deserved first draw of the Phase One National League campaign. However, in the 93rd minute, Bray found a late breakthrough through Síofra O’Farrell. From the line, there were calls for offside from the Kildare supporters, but both the linesman and referee allowed the goal to stand, breaking Kildare hearts at the final whistle.
In only their second season in the National League, Klub Kildare continue to impress with performances that show maturity, discipline, and growing confidence at this level.
