Ireland Under 18 international Egor Vassenin has transferred from Klub Kildare to Shamrock Rovers

Talented Kilcullen teenager Egor Vassenin has signed a professional contract with Shamrock Rovers after transferring from Klub Kildare.

Vassenin began his football career with his home club Kilcullen in the KDUL before signing for Klub Kildare where he progressed from the Under 13 side through to the representing the Under 20s.

The 6’3 left sided defender has also been capped at international level with Ireland up to under 18 level.

Vassenin has been training with Shamrock Rovers for the last six months and manager Stephen Bradley, who said his good relationship with Klub Kildare helped the process, is delighted with the signing.

“Egor will have a bit of everything, but as we’re midway through our season, it’ll be interesting to see where he is in terms of the group. We know and we saw it in the game in pre-season; he’d be ready to play now but with Egor’s age profile he’s one for now but also the future. It’s great to have him in the group and for him to be able to learn from our more established defenders. There’s nobody better to learn from, than these players who’ve done it for many years. So, as I said, he’s one for now but definitely one for the future of the club also.”

Vassenin is going into sixth year in CPC Kilcullen and will combine his Leaving Cert studies with his training duties with Rovers.
