A YOUNG singer from Athy has released her first single of 2026, but her fifth altogether at age just 22.
Katie Rycroft from Clonmullion released on Saturday, 29 August on all platforms.

“I wrote it. I’ve only been releasing music since I was 18, but I’ve been singing since I was a little girl.
“My grand-da Nicky Rycroft taught me, but we’re from a big musical family – there are a lot of us.
“I live in Clonmullion with my parents (Gemma and John).
I am writing an album as we speak. will be on it, it will be the main track.
“I’m going to put 11 songs on the album, and I have seven written so far, so I have a few to go right now!” she laughed.
“I just sing, don’t play instruments, so when I’m doing a performance I’ll use a backing track.
“I record all my songs with my close friend in Carlow, Ilia Sunderland.
“I used to record in my bedroom, but he’s way better than I am!
“ is my first single to record this year.
“I’ve previously released four before this, but I’ve had a little genre swop!”
This is not Katie's first introduction to the limelight, because last July Katie played in the fan zone at the Guns’n’Roses concert in Wembley Stadium.
