The world-renowned Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DGR) is set to make return to Barberstown Castle on Sunday 18 May

The world-renowned Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DGR) is set to make return to Barberstown Castle on Sunday 18 May by bringing together classic and vintage motorcycle enthusiasts from around Ireland and further afield for a charitable cause.

DGR is the world's largest motorcycling charity event, but is not just about bikes; it's a style celebration of a bygone era's fashion and fun - all in support of men's health.

“On 18 May tens of thousands of riders worldwide will don their cravats, tweak their moustaches and ride their classic and vintage motorcycles to shine a light on prostate cancer, men's mental health and suicide prevention programmes, and we are calling on all Irish riders to do the same and join us at Barberstown Castle,” said event organiser Austin O’Callaghan.

Building upon the success of previous years, the Kildare event enters its third edition to exceed 250 registered riders.

Over 100,000 riders from more than 1,000 cities across 120 countries are expected to participate, showcasing the global reach and impact of this noble initiative.

“This year will be even more special as we are holding a very special motorcycle and scooter display in Barberstown Castle, and everyone is welcome to this family-friendly event.

Every year at DGR Kildare we try to provide something different to riders and supporters.

The very special feature this year is in conjunction with Movember Ireland.

Throughout the weekend, the Movember Phone Booth will be at Barberstown Castle. This unique and thought-provoking installation, invites people to share their stories and experiences on men’s mental health.

Funds raised through the ride will be directed towards both local and global prostate cancer research and men's mental health & suicide prevention programs, in collaboration with the official charity partner, Movember.

The event has announced an exciting prize opportunity to win a Mash TT 400 Café Racer, specially commissioned for Kildare DGR 2025, with front and rear paddock stands and matching helmet.

Every registered rider in the Kildare DGR will automatically be entered into the draw. Additionally, anyone who sponsors a registered DGR Kildare rider with a donation of over €20 will also be entered.

Tickets are also on sale at only €10 each or 3 for €20 and are available at the Castle, online and other locations, which will be announced through social media sites.

The draw will take place live on Monday 2 June, providing an additional incentive for participants to rally support and raise funds leading up to the event.

Donations received before this date will also be included in the draw, offering an extension after the ride finishes.

DGR is  also putting out an appeal to non-riders that would like to become involved to contact DGR Kildare if they would like to help.
