Enjoy theatre at dusk in Monasterevin

Rehearsals have been ongoing for the last number of weeks

Monasterevin Drama Group are delighted to present ‘Theatre by Candlelight’ – a unique presentation of a short play, poetry and local talent delivered at dusk in the beautiful simple setting of Monasterevin Council Hall, which has had a makeover in recent years.

The group has been established since 2019 and in that time have produced three sell-out shows. They have also delivered a number of one-act plays as part of Monasterevin StreetFest celebrations.

Again, they are striving to deliver something new and fresh for the community of Monasterevin and local surrounds. This time in conjunction with Culture Night. Special events will take place across the county, in fact across Ireland, on Friday 20 September to celebrate culture, creativity and the arts.

One of the aims of the night countrywide is to promote the understanding our culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives.

Thanks to the support of the Arts Council and local authorities across the country, all activities are made available to the public free of charge. The group wish to express their gratitude to Kildare Co Council and to all who have and provided their talents, and skills in support of this event.

Rehearsals for ‘Theatre by Candlelight’ have been ongoing for the last number of weeks and the group are thrilled to engage in this unique experience.

This free event takes place in Monasterevin Council Hall at 8pm. Doors open at 7.15 with light refreshments served. Spaces are limited.

For those who are unable to make this particular event, performances will be repeated in The WoodStack Café, Moore Abbey Forest, Monasterevin the following Sunday, 22 September.
