KILDARE artists and performers are being urged to sign up for Culture Night this year – and possibly qualify for a grant to do so.

Kildare County Council Arts Service is now seeking ‘Expressions of Interest’ from Kildare-based artists, performers, organisations or community groups for this year’s Culture Night, taking place on Friday, 18 September.

“Proposals should reflect the cultural richness of Kildare and the diversity of all communities living across the county,” said a spokesperson for the arts service.

Submissions celebrating equality, diversity, inclusion and initiatives that specifically engage younger audiences between 18 to 35 are welcome, as are applications from new participants.

Financial support of up to €300 is available towards costs for eligible events.

“Culture Night is an annual national public event, that shines a light on all aspects of culture, creativity and the arts,” said the spokesperson.

“It seeks to actively promote the belief that Ireland’s rich and diverse culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s everyday lives.

For an ‘Expression of Interest’ form or further information about Culture Night contact culturenightkildare@gmail.com or call 045 980358.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, 2nd July at 12pm, and applicants will be notified of decisions in mid-July.

Culture Night is brought to you by the Arts Council.
