Naas Musical Society host open night

NAAS Musical Society has officially launched its new 2026/2027 season, following a successful Open Night held at the Town House Hotel in Naas.
The evening brought members together to hear about plans for the year ahead and get a first look at an exciting programme of productions, fundraising events and opportunities for new and returning members.
The society’s season will kick off with its annual fundraising concert, Sounds of the 70s, which will take to the stage at the Moat Theatre from 3–5 November. Rehearsals for the concert begin on Monday 31 August at 7.30pm, with the society welcoming new members who would like to get involved.
The in-house production team for Sounds of the 70s includes co-directors Claire O’Reilly, Sean O’Keeffe and David Kirk, alongside Musical Director Tom Joyce.
The team will also be joined by Chloe Connolly, who makes her choreography debut with Naas Musical Society.
The evening also saw NMS Chairperson Dale Farrell officially introduce the creative team behind the Society’s highly anticipated 2027 annual musical, , which will be staged at the Moat Theatre from 6–12 March 2027.
Joining Naas Musical Society for the first time is director Jennifer O’Brien, who spoke to members about the production and her excitement at becoming part of the Society.
Returning for another year are musical director Mairead McKenna and choreographer Áine Foley, completing the creative team for the 2027 production.
Rehearsals for are scheduled to begin in mid-November.
Members were also given an insight into the Society’s fundraising plans, with a number of events and initiatives set to take place throughout the coming year.
Excitement is already building for The Clockmaker’s Daughter, with auditions now open.
Naas Musical Society is inviting anyone interested in auditioning for a role in the 2027 production to register their interest and take part.
