On Wednesday 5 February, people can are invited to Maynooth Library at 4pm for some St Brigid cross craft for parents and children. For adults, Kildare Town once again welcomes people for Brigid themed lectures: one in Solas Bhride at 4pm that focuses around the telling of St Brigid legends, and a historical lecture in Kildare Education Support Centre at 7.30pm that explores life during St Brigid’s time.
Thursday will see a beautiful floral art demonstration in Solas Bhride at 2.30pm, followed by an evening of poetry and song with local writer Mae Leonard in Kildare Town Library at 7pm.

Saturday hosts a full day of activities at an event with a theme around justice and solidarity in our time in Kildare Town’s Solas Bhride. Attendees can expect a diverse selection of speakers, musicians and active community members for a day filled with music, poetry, a light lunch and tree planting. On the same day, Kildare Town Library will be beginning a four-week knitting and crochet workshop for all ages and all skill levels.
The event will run from Saturday, 8 February until Saturday, 1 March from 11am to 1pm.
After this weekend, the Brigid celebrations will slow down with willow weaving sessions in Sallins Community Centre Parish Hall on Saturday, February 15 from 10.30am until 2.30pm.
The Brigid festivities will officially come to a close with the unveiling of a vibrant mural in the new sensory garden at Leixlip Youth and Community Centre from 11am until 1pm.
