Portlaoise Courthouse
A 39-YEAR-OLD woman was brought before Poartlaoise District Court charged with possessing €280,000 worth of cannabis for sale or supply.
Before the court was Tracy Norton, The Burrow, Knockrigg, Grange Con, Co Wicklow. She is charged with possessing drugs for her own use and to possessing drugs for sale or supply when stopped by gardaí on the M7 at Clondouglas on 4 November.
The court was told that when the charges were put to the accused, she made no reply.
Judge Andrew Cody heard that there was no gardaí objection to bail being granted.
The judge remanded Ms Norton on her own bail to the 22 February sitting of the court for directions from the director of public prosecutions (DPP) and on conditions that she signs on twice weekly at her local garda station, provides a mobile contact number to gardaí and has no contact by any means with two unnamed individuals.
