Runners went to great efforts to get into the festive spirit

Up to 550 participants in the 2024 Run, Run Rudolph! Kilcullen GAA event had a fine day for the club's Christmas fundraiser, after the wet and windy depredations of the previous day's Storm Darragh. The number represented a big step upwards from last year's 450-strong event.

With a range of courses from 2.5km to 10km, there was something for everyone from the serious runners to the morning strollers, those latter taking advantage of the new 1.2km walkway constructed around the club's Field of Dreams project, for which the event has been one of the fundraisers over the last few years.

The participants were also able to set out across the pristine new car park tarmacadam, just recently completed with the help of a very successful Solothon fundraiser some weeks ago.

The €1 million project to provide a second full-size pitch, two juvenile training pitches, and a skills arena, is now well on track to be in use next summer.
